The Benefits of Cleaning using Natural Products

One of the best things of natural cleaning is that it makes the cleaning feel like a pleasure.

Because of the aromas and the health benefits of using such products on your floor or walls, it’s not only going to clean the house but will help you be soothe and calm.

On the other hand, it’ll save you so much time and money because of its accessibility to you and how cheaply these products can be.

You will be shocked to know that it only takes a few minutes to create herbal cleaning solutions that you can apply instantly.

For example: It only takes a few minutes to fill a spray bottle with vinegar and water and add a few drops of essential oil. Voila.

There goes your glass cleaner.

Damn… your windows will love you for this.

Another great benefit of switching to natural products is the amount of declutter you can do.

Since after switching to natural products you will no longer need all those expensive commercial cleaners.

That will save up a lot of space in the area where you store cleaning supplies.

The Natural Cleaning Products You Will Need [Or Already May Have]

 Citrus (lemon, orange)

Tea Tree

Basil

Lavender

Mint

Oregano

Rosemary

Cinnamon

Ginger

Please note: You don’t need all of these. Just a combination of some of these natural products will be enough to clean your whole home naturally and on a budget.

Plus keep you away from the harmful chemicals of commercial cleaners.

Cleaning The Kitchen Naturally

It’s one of the busiest traffic areas in the home. Where you cook food, share family time on dining table.

Unfortunately, in a lot of places garbage and bins are also kept. And even the slightest bit of carelessness in the kitchen can give you smells of rotten food, grease and last night’s fish.

So, the kitchen is bound to get dirty.

And cleaning is no easy task.

* Washing The Dishes

One of the most advertised elements for washing dishes is lemon.

All that is fine. But it’s the other chemicals the companies use to keep the solution working long term that is harmful for you and your family.

And after reading this article you’re better off creating your own solution.

So, take a 500ml bottle and put liquid castile soap inside it.

Then add 15 drops of lemon.

And 6 drops of lavender essential oil.

If you want to go further also add 5 drops of bergamot essential oil.

And we’re good to go.

Shake the bottle properly before each use.

Add 1 to 2 drops of liquid and wash as usual.

* Cleaning The Kitchen Sink

The Kitchen sink is a victim to grease, oils and so many scums that come out of dirty dishes when you wash them.

It’s bound to get clogged and leave an unpleasant smell if you don’t clean it properly.

But can you do it organically and on a budget?

Absolutely.

This mixture is for porcelain sinks and stainless-steel ones.

Best part is that it will not only keep the sink basin and faucets clean but it will also keep the drains and garbage disposals clean and fresh smelling and free from any clogs.

Just add 1/4 cup of baking soda.

1/2 cup of vinegar.

And 3 drops of either lavender/ rosemary/ lemon or orange essential oil

Combine all the ingredients.

Rinse sink well with hot water.

Pour the cleanser in the sink and wipe with a sponge or cloth. Rinse again with hot water.

* Oven Cleaning on a Budget

Commercial oven cleaner is some of the most toxic and overwhelming products you can use.

As if the smoky smell from ovens is not enough. To add to that the chemical smell of the products just add fuel to the fire.

Grab a bowl and add the following ingredients together and mix.

Grab a sponge and spread it around the inside of the oven to clean. Rinse off using a damp clean cloth.

Add 1/2 cup of salt

1/4 cup washing soda

2 cups of baking soda

1/4 cup of water

3/4 cup of white vinegar

10 drops of thyme essential oil

10 drops of lemon

Note that if you have a lot of baked on grease or food splatters use a bit more salt if necessary.

And give it a wash once more.

* Kitchen Floor Cleaning on a Budget

My condolences to you if you chose a light-colored floor for your kitchen.

Because as discussed above the kitchen is one of the highest traffic areas.

And even a slight mud or grease can ruin the floors.

Especially a light-colored floor.

And again, we will go with a citrus solution.

Because nothing works best for kitchen cleaning than citrus.

So, put 4 litres of hot water.

2 tablespoons of liquid castile soap

15 drops of sweet orange essential oil

1/4 cup of lemon juice.

Combine all these ingredients in a large bucket.

And start mopping the floor with this solution.

Bathroom Cleaning on a Budget

There’s so much scum that gets stuck on bathroom walls due to the use of soaps.

What happens is when we use soap and that soap gets mixed with tap water it creates a hard mixture called scum.

Which gets stuck on bathroom walls and floors.

A lot of people tend to ignore these scums which later becomes molds and mildew over time.

Which smells really bad and you had wish you cleaned the bathroom sooner.

* Mold and Mildew Cleaning

Mold and Mildew are always a threat in a bathroom.

One easy solution you can create to kill the mold is –

Mix 1 litre of water to 1/4 teaspoon of clove oil

Shake the mixture well.

Spray on the walls and floors of the bathroom and clean it with a damp cloth.

* Sanitizing the Toilet on a Budget

When it comes to cleaning the bathroom, the toilet is probably the most important part.

Especially the toilet seat.

That is where most of the germs and bacteria are.

And imagine if you clean them with chemicals. That’s bound to harm you in the future.

But a cleaning with an organic budget material will not only save you money but also keep you safe and hygienic.

Just take 2 cups of water.

1/4 of liquid castile soap

1 tablespoon tea tree essential oil

10 drops of peppermint essential oil.

Combine all ingredients in a plastic spray bottle and shake well. Spray on toilet surfaces and wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge.

Walls and Carpeting Cleaning On A Budget

We get dirt and germs on the floors and walls. No matter how hard we try to be dust free or dirt free.

On top of that you can always count on the occasional fingerprints and grease on them if you got little ones.

A light solution to this is to always do dusting frequently to reduce the risk of staining and streaking

* Cleaning the Walls

If you have got painted walls or wallpapers pay close attention.

Because this simple, organic yet budget free mixture is all your walls ever wanted.

NOTE: Please test the mixture on a small area first. This keeps you risk free.

With that being said take 1 cup of water.

1/2 cup vinegar

And 6 drops of lemon juice.

Combine all ingredients in a plastic spray bottle.

Lightly spray the affected areas of your wall and wipe with a clean, damp sponge.

* Deep Cleaning the Carpet on a Budget

We see a lot of videos on YouTube on carpet cleaning.

Where they add layers and layers of soap and water and just keep cleaning it.

Making the viewers believe that’s what deep cleaning actually is.

Which is WRONG.

All that soap only leaves a residue on carpet which acts as a magnet for more and more dirt to be attracted.

Rather using an organic simple formula is far better.

Take 1 cup of borax.

1 cup of baking soda.

1/2 cup of cornmeal

10 drops of juniper essential oil

5 drops of cypress essential oil

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl.

Sprinkle the mixture over carpet.

Wait for a night.

Then vacuum.
